Trainer's Challenge & Equine Expo Coming Soon!

Foothills Cowboy Church is sponsoring a fundraiser for Promise Land Riding Stables in March 2009. This event will showcase selected trainers who will work with a young horse for the weekend while judges observe to select the top trainer.

If you are a horse owner or breeder with training questions, you won't want to miss this event where you can observe several styles of training and horsemanship. Also, a trainer will be on-hand working with new or problem horses for a $30.00 donation fee.

The Trainer's Challenge will begin on Saturday, March 28 at 9 a.m. at the Foothills Cowboy Church Arena grounds. The final round (top three trainers) will begin on Sunday, March 29th at 1 p.m.

Cowboy Church Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Sunday, 29th! Please join us...

Cowboy (Or Cowgirl) Up... Challenge Finals Are Near

The 2008 Ultimate Cowboy Challenge Finals Are Near.....In fact, October 19 is the date! After church on this day, the contestants who have qualified in either the August or September event will be competing to win the trophy saddle and the title of Ultimate Cowboy Challenge Winner for 2008.

We have lots of outstanding horsemen and women who have participated so far, riding a variety of trained horses, ponies and mules too. Even if you have not had a chance to qualify for the final event, we invite you to come join in the fellowship and be a spectator. Excitement and good weather should be available and plentiful.

Dutch Oven Draws Many

The dutch oven classes offered by the church this summer were very well attended. All in all, about 100 people participated in the beginner and advanced classes organized by Brett Marlin and Beth Hames. The participants received cookbooks, pointers about outdoor cooking and a devotional message. Hopefully, everyone who participated will share their new dutch oven talents with friends and family this fall.

Arena Time!

The arena is another big part of the Foothills Cowboy Church ministry.

The arena is located adjacent to the church. Folks generally bring their horses (and mules in the case of this photo) over on Thursday nights to practice barrels, pole bending, and other general activities. A lot of time and effort has gone into the construction of the arena.

Come check it out! The weather is perfect for riding.

2008 Ultimate Cowboy Challenge

It's time again for the Ultimate Cowboy Challenge FINALS at Foothills Cowboy Church.
August 17 was the first event and September 21 was a repeat event for those who wanted to qualify to win in the final.
October 19 is the finals competition for those who have qualified in one of the two previous events (August 17 or September 21).

Sylamore Trail Ride

On May 30 and 31, the church sponsored a trail ride & camping trip to Sylamore in Stone County. The trails available to ride in the Sylamore-White River area are wonderful, beautiful and peacefully calming. Riders rode Friday and Saturday on horses (and mules!) to explore the beauty of the national forest area. God blessed the group with fresh air and sunshine and safety for the weekend of fellowship and fun. Delicious Dutch Oven meals were prepared and shared!
